Since launching this new adventure of allowing people to join the Thursday Mindshifter Group through Zoom, it has come to my attention that people want to know what we will be talking about, or listening to in the group meeting.  So, when there is a topic selected in advance, and the audio or video has been predetermined, I will endeavor to post a blog notice listing that topic, or talk.

Tonight we will be listening to part of a talk by Michael Singer, author of The Untethered Soul, and The Surrender Experiment.  Michael has published an online course about Living From A Place of Surrender.  The talk for tonight will be about Heart, and the difference between Mind, or Thoughts, and Heart energy.  

These concepts are very similar to the concepts we observe in Dr. Michael Ryce’s work, and The Way of Mastery, and A Course In Miracles.  We understand the tremendous benefit to our understanding of these concepts, and how it happens more quickly and deeply, when we hear them from slightly different perspectives.

Last Tuesday in the Mindshifters Group in Woodstock, IL, after the discussion, no one else wanted to do a worksheet so I volunteered.  The worksheet helped me access some deep emotions and tapped into some processing that has been going on within me for decades.  I shed some tears in the group, and made some connections between life events that had previously escaped my conscious awareness.  Then on Wednesday morning I awoke with a migraine headache.  Fortunately I was scheduled to meet with a friend who does an energy work called NET, and it is very much like the Reality Management Worksheet/Wake-Up sheet process only it has the benefit of reading the body’s energy system to diagnose which energy flow is disrupted.

I had my partner work on me, and it took the entire 90 minutes for me to do a series of five or six releases.  At the end of that time, I felt completely drained and still had some headache discomfort.  I laid down for fifteen minutes before seeing my next patient and then went right into hosting the Internet Radio Show – Mindshifters Radio – since Dr. Ryce had texted during my session and asked if I could host the show that day.

The resulting show found me reading my worksheet out loud and then discussing my process with the NET releases.  Several people said they found this show very helpful so I am including a link to the show, and a link to the “Forgiveness Patter” that I include when someone does a worksheet in either support group.

We have launched our Thursday Mindshifter Group into a new incarnation, in which it is accessible through Zoom web conferencing.  The information about that is available on my website at https://ch4cs.com/mindshifter-support-groups 

The recording of our second group meeting has now been edited to remove the personal processing of some of the members.  What is left is my talking about various topics and responses to questions from group participants.

I am excited to announce that the Thursday Mindshifters Group will be available for people to attend via web-conference on the Zoom platform.  The way it will work is that there will people in attendance in my office and people who choose to join over the internet or phone through the Zoom web-conferencing platform.  The first time we did this, there were two people in the office and four people joining through the web-conference.  There may be quite a few more people joining through the web, as we begin to publicize the availability of this new option.

The format of the Mindshifter Groups is to present some educational material related to the very practical tools that are offered by Dr. Michael Ryce and his wife Jeanie at www.whygain.org, and then to have open discussion before giving people the opportunity to do an actual Reality Management Worksheet/WakeUp Sheet with group support.

The audio, video or lecture material usually takes the first hour of the group, then after a short break for personal convenience, we move into discussion and application of the tools.

I have been hosting the Mindshifters Support Group that meets on Tuesday for over thirteen years, and have been hosting the Thursday Group for four years now.  The focus of these groups is to help people understand how we as people create the stress, and negative emotions, in our lives which create all of our psychological and emotional pain, and difficulties in our relationships.  Once we are armed with the knowledge of how our mind/body energy system works, and get introduced to practical and effective tools to manage that system, we are able to improve our quality of life by the application of those tools.

I recently found a blog post I did back in January 2009.  In it I listed some of my favorite quotes from the book The Mirror Theory by: Betsy Otter Thompson.  The premise of the book was very difficult for me to accept, and if it had not been for the very high credibility of the person who recommended the book to me, I probably never would have pushed past the premise.  All I can say is that I am very, very glad that I did.  This book ended up being one that I read repeatedly and marked up, and used post-it tabs to find key quotes, like I had never done with a book prior to that time.  Some books just come into my life at the right time, and strike the right chords for me, and this book was the perfect symphony for that turbulent time in my life.

I will share some of those quotes with you again here, just in case they resonate with anyone today.

“Fear is created by refusing to face the truth about our lives. But as soon as we do, fear disappears. It only lives in a soul that refuses to make a decision. To heal is to walk right into whatever we think is paralyzing us.”

Last night I began experimenting with recording myself during the Mindshifters Support Group.  This was the result of several people telling me for years, that during one support group or another, “You should be recording these!”.  I have resisted for years, because the purpose of the groups has been to support people in learning and using these powerful tools which improve the quality of their lives.  I did not want the distraction, or the inhibitor that may occur when people know they are being recorded.

Then on Tuesday evening, the flow of ideas, insights, and inspirations was such that I left the group just shaking my head and saying, “WOW!”, over and over again as I drove home.  This led to discussions about the pros and cons of recording each group, so that when an especially “flowing” group happens, we have access to it, just as we have access to the archive of each Internet Mindshifters Radio Show for the past seven plus years.

So, here is a link to the slightly edited recording of the group last night when we listened to the Q & A from Way of Mastery on the question of, “How can all events be neutral?  We listened to the 12 minute audio, and then we went back and I interrupted the audio and made comments.  The entire recording is about 60 minutes long.
